Prologue — The Fall of Artis and the Birth of a New World

Introduction

The world as we knew it changed forever in the year 2357. It was a year that became a turning point in the history of mankind — the year when a meteorite called Artis-87b fell to Earth. But this meteorite was not an ordinary space rock. It was an ancient capsule filled with biological organisms whose true intentions remained a mystery to us. It later became clear that these creatures belonged to a long-vanished civilization that used them to create a protective shell capable of restoring life after global cataclysms. However, their arrival on Earth led to consequences that no one could have foreseen.

Arrival of Artis

Artis-87b crashed into one of the most remote areas of the planet, an almost deserted area where the environmental impact was minimal. Scientists from all over the world gathered there to investigate this phenomenon. Initially, they were amazed that there were not just minerals or gases inside the meteorite, but living organisms capable of adapting to terrestrial conditions. These creatures began to evolve, creating a unique biome filled with new species of plants and animals.

At first, everything seemed amazing and even inspiring. The researchers observed the evolution of these organisms, noting their ability to quickly adapt to the environment. However, the situation soon began to change. One of these creatures bit one of the scientists, and from that moment on, a pandemic began that turned the world upside down.

The Beginning of the Pandemic

At first, the disease seemed like an ordinary virus that could be treated with modern medicine. But after a few days, it became clear that this was something much more complicated. People infected with this "virus" began to experience strange changes in their bodies. Their DNA was rearranged, causing a metamorphosis that transformed them into semi-sentient beings known as the Infected. These creatures retained some of the features of their previous lives, but their minds were clouded, and their behavior became aggressive and instinctive.

The pandemic has spread around the world at an incredible rate. In a matter of weeks, millions of people became Infected, and humanity was on the verge of extinction. Governments from different countries have joined together to find a solution to this problem. Scientific laboratories were working around the clock, trying to understand the mechanism of action of the disease and develop an antidote.

DNA Replicators

Soon, scientists made an important discovery: if cloning technologies are used, it is possible to restore human DNA even after death. Devices called DNA Replicators were created that could recreate humans and animals from the smallest tissue fragments. These devices were the salvation of humanity, but they also changed the very nature of life and death.

Replicators have been installed all over the world in large numbers. They allowed the resurrection of people killed by Infected, and even animals killed as a result of conflicts. However, the problem was that these devices did not distinguish between humans and Infected people. When the Infected died, they also resurrected, creating an endless cycle of war and rebirth.

This led to the division of the world into two main factions: those who remained human, and those who turned into Infected. The conflict between them has been going on for several centuries, becoming part of everyday life.
